OTH - Season 5 Recap
The CW sent out a newsletter today and part of it was a mini season recap. I thought it was great for people if they happen to need caught up. Here ya go:
As we approach our 100th episode, we figured it might be a good time to take a look back at this short, but busy season.
After four years away, the gang has returned to Tree Hill. Lucas published his novel and got more than a nice advance in his book deal — he also fell in love with his editor after Peyton told him that she didn’t want to marry him. Now he and his editor, Lindsey, have returned to Tree Hill so he can write his second novel. However, Lucas can’t seem to find his muse and suffers from writer’s block… until Peyton arrives in town.
Peyton heads back to Tree Hill from LA without admitting exactly why. But Brooke calls her out, and she finally admits that she came back for Lucas. The timing is bad though, and Lindsey makes it clear that Lucas is hers now. Jobless and heartbroken, Peyton agrees to take an advance from Brooke and start her own small record label. She even finds and signs her first act, a singer named Mia.
Tired of the New York lifestyle, Brooke returns to Tree Hill to use some of the millions she has made with her successful clothing line to open up a boutique. She’s hired her mother, Victoria, to help with her business, and Victoria is not at all happy that her daughter wants to move back to her hometown.
The past few years have been hard on the Scott family. Just as Nathan’s basketball dreams were about to come true and he was headed to the draft, his temper got the best of him. He got into a bar brawl that left him temporarily paralyzed, ending his career. He sulks for awhile but finds strength to continue with the help of Haley and their son, Jamie. But just as the family starts to get back on track, they hire a nanny named Carrie who crushes on Nathan pretty bad. She ends up coming between Nathan and Haley, who finally gives up and asks her husband for a divorce.
After serving only four years for murdering his brother, Dan Scott is released from prison and looks forward to meeting his grandson for the first time. And that brings us up to date… Were you ready for last night's big developments?
OTH - Episode 12 - Last one until April 15th
Wow, that was a roller coaster of an episode. Lots of flashbacks/dream sequences that were great to watch. Wow, I’m sort of speechless.
I did not read every single spoiler so I was so hoping when Peyton stood up it was real but alas, it wasn’t. But oh how happy I was that Lindsey stopped the whole thing. I felt bad for the poor girl. Must have been awful to have your wedding day ruined like that. But Lucas’ book sounds awesome! And him trying to deny it was not about Peyton was just ludicrous. Sort of hard to deny. No one writes a story about a boy waiting his life for a comet.
Andy’s back! Karen’s back! We meet Lily! You know, I really missed Karen! I loved how she was already dishing out advice. Brooke and Peyton really need that even though they are in their 20s now. In fact, if some spoilers are right, one of them is really going to need it more! Isn’t Lily the cutest? And Andy is so funny and sweet and charming. So glad Karen is with him since she can’t be with Keith. That was a really sweet comment he had about giving it all up for Keith to be there for Lucas.
As for Brooke breaking out with the baby stuff…sort of out of place if you ask me. Peyton is heartbroken and a wedding was just called off and she says oh, and I want a baby. Sorry, but it just seemed a little misplaced. I guess maybe with the idea of another friend starting a family would trigger that for Brooke but just her telling Peyton like that was just a little weird.
Carrie gets on my nerves. I actually was on Dan’s side for once. I was waiting for him to give her more of beatdown that he already did. I mean, WHO kidnaps a boy and on top of that leaves a FOUR year old in a hotel room by themselves?Haley was perfect once again when Jamie returned. I was trying not to cry! Speaking of Haley. I so wish Nathan’s dream sequence of his and Haley’s kiss was real. You can tell Nathan is hurting so bad. And I know in a way he deserves it for what he’s done in the past but he’s just so pitiful.
I really don’t like how that episode ended with Dan walking in. No closure to one single thing and now we have to wait FOUR weeks to find out what’s going to happen.

OTH - Episode 11 (Engagement party)

Lindsey covers Nathan up on the couch at her place and goes over to Lucas at the laptop and gives him a kiss. They talk about Nathan and Haley and the bachelor/bachelorette parties. Lucas suggests them having their party at the same place so Nathan and Haley have to talk.
Haley and Jamie are in the kitchen. Jamie says he had a dream about Dan last night. Jamie asks when Nathan is coming home. Haley says not for awhile.
Haley and Lindsey are putting together presents. Haley asks about the party. Lindsey says they want something low-key.

Peyton asks if Lindsey told him about how mean she was in the library and he says no. Peyton says she’s really great. Lucas says I know but it’s good to hear you say that. She steals the ball and makes a shot and they laugh.

Mouth comes in with a bagel for Millicent and coffee for Brooke. Brooke tells Mouth Rachel is back and tells him what happened. Millicent can tell something is up and Mouth leaves right away. Millicent says I didn’t get my kiss.
Dan walks out of the gate from jail.

Lindsey and Lucas are at Macy’s registering. Lindsey mentions she needs to give them the book. He says he is going to do one more pass.
Brooke and Owen walk up and see Lindsey and Lucas kissing and Brooke says kiss me, everyone’s doing it. Owen dips her and says there’s so much peer pressure but they don’t kiss.
Bevin comes up and says she got married and had a baby and brings out a picture and it’s the same little boy Tim showed them in the library (so it is Tim and Bevin’s!).
Peyton walks out on her deck to see Rachel. Rachel says she’s a little ashamed and she doesn’t have to babysit her. Rachel says she can beat it but it’s hard. Peyton says Brooke believed in her and it turned out good and Brooke believes in Rachel too.
Brooke and Owen are walking through the mall. Owen says it’s great what she’s doing with Rachel. She’s says she’s doing it because she needs help. Victoria comes down the escalator and says she went to a meeting and it’s fine that she’s not there. She asks where she was all weekend. Brooke says she had some things to handle. Victoria says well, that’s fine, you’re excused now, go and play, it’s what you do best.
Lucas is at Haley’s. Jamie’s run upstairs and Lucas asks how he’s doing. She says ok. Lucas gives Haley his book and asks her to look it over. She says of course but if I don’t like it, don’t hate me.
Brooke comes into the house and tells Peyton she has a blind date for her. Peyton reluctantly agrees but he better be cute.
Rachel comes in and tells Brooke says she feels good and wants to get back to work and wants to model again. Brooke says she loves her but she was thinking she could work at the store. She says she didn’t mean to get her hopes up and she shouldn’t be around that lifestyle. She says she let her down once before and she can’t do it again. Rachel insists she strong and won’t do it again. Brooke says to give it time.
Dan is at the store buying a gift for Jamie and flirting with her. He asks when she gets off work. She says that depends, when are you going to pick me up?
Millicent comes to Mouth’s. She asks if he’s going to see Rachel. She says I know how Rachel is and I know you have history. Mouth says I’d bring you along but it might not be good. Millicent says she’ll see him at the party.
Nathan and Lucas come up to the party and Nate tells him he knows it is a set up and it’s fine because he missed is wife. Brooke answers the door at her house and Owen and Chase is there.
Haley opens the door and Lucas and Nathan is there.
Brooke goes in to talk to Peyton and Rachel. They can’t believe it’s Chase. Peyton says he’s so cute while Brooke is freaking out. Brooke says if she hooks up with Chase, she has to take a taxi home. Peyton says seriously, if it’s too much, just say the word.
In the car Brooke says awkward! Owen says someone tell me what’s going on. Chase explains the girl he used to talk about. Do you remember her name? Owen realizes it’s her and is shocked.
Nathan and Haley talk and Nathan says he didn’t set it up. Jamie comes in and Haley says spend time with him because he misses him.
Owen and Chase are walking into the party. Chase is loving they hadn’t figured it out.Rachel gets ready and invites Mouth in to Brooke’s house.
Haley and Nathan are talking. Nathan wipes Haley’s mouth. Nathan thought Haley was glad to see him. She says I am but tonight is not about them. Jamie wants H to play Rock Band. Haley walks away. Jamie says she wants all of them together. Skills walks up and says he’ll play with him. Jamie says maybe later.
Mouth and Rachel talk. She says it’s been downhill from high school. He says he had to sleep with his boss to keep his job. Rachel says he’s come a long way. Mouth says she should have called…is there anything he can do now. Rachel says remember the room in Tree Hill..come on I could use a little release? Mouth turns her down and says he’s leaving. Rachel gets a text that says to come party with them.
Brooke goes into Jamie’s room and asks how he’s doing. Owen walks in and talks with him too. They cheer him up.
Lucas goes up to Haley and says he hopes she doesn’t feel slighted by the set up. Haley says you picked the right person to spend the rest of your life with. Lucas says, you did too....
Peyton and Chase are talking. Chase says he always thought she was cute. Chase asks if she stills Lucas and she says he’s with Lucas. Chase kisses her. Peyton says Chase. Chase says 3:00, Lucas is watching. They show Lucas and he was watching but turns around.
Mouth and Millicent talk and Millicent says next time you go see a hot model you have sexual history with to consider her feelings.
Brooke is sitting on Owen’s lap and their eating cake. He tells her about a birthday party one time. Brooke says if Victoria remembered her birthday, she usually just threw her credit card at her.
Victoria walks in with Rachel on the couch. She gives Rachel a hard time. Rachel says she’s better now. Victoria says maybe today. Rachel says Brooke believes in her. Victoria says I convinced her to cut her loose once and she can do it again. Rachel says Brooke wouldn’t do it. Victoria says she’s pathetic. Let’s be honest, you can’t beat this thing and deep down, you know it too.
Jamie is in the moon bounce. Haley comes out and gets Jamie and gets mad at Skills for losing sight at how little he is. Skills tells Haley today Jamie just wanted them together and he thinks they’re the ones that has lost sight of things.
Lucas and Lindsey are by the pool talking. The talk about their plan. They see Naley talking and it’s a start.
Nathan tells Haley he’s sorry. Haley says aren’t you tired of that? You shouldn’t apologize for who you are and I knew who you were when I married you and it’s not fair. It was wrong of me to try and change you. I’m the one that shouldn’t have tried to change you or us and now I’m done trying. She walks away.
Skills goes into Jamie’s room. Jamie is holding a real rabbit. Skills says good work on the party. He says you know I’ll always be there for you. Jamie says Word, wanna hold the rabbit. Skills says that’s where I draw the line. Skills gets scared and says it’s not funny.
Brooke is getting her jacket and Chase comes into the bedroom. Brooke asks if he’s a thrill seeking pilot yet? He says he’s a carpet layer with flying lessons. She asks about the date and he says it’s good and he said you and Owen huh? He’s a good guy. Brooke says he is.
Lucas and Lindsey are in the moon dance. Lindsey says what if Keith and her dad are in heaven at a bar talking. Keith would tell her dad what a great job he did raising her. She says her father loved him. They kiss.
Millicent gets Mouth with silly string again. Millicent says she’s leaving. Mouth says aren’t you forgetting something and kisses her. He says it’s the best part of his day and he missed it. She says me too and they walk out together.
Haley walks in on Jamie and Skills. Haley tells Skills thank you and gives her a hug. Haley watches Jamie.
Peyton and Chase are walking and she says she had a good time. Peyton kisses Chase. She says Brooke was watching. She says good luck and good night.
Nathan and Jamie are in bed together. Jamie says mommy won’t let you stay? Nathan says it’s not mommy. She’s the best. It’s just Daddy’s on a time out right now. Jamie asks if he’s ever coming home. He says I hope so. Jamie says I hope so too. Haley was at the door listening.
Brooke yells for Rachel at home. Peyton found an empty envelope and says she’s gone. Good try.
Dan and the store girl are in bed together. She asks what’s his story. He says I just got out of jail for killing my brother. She says right…did you do it? Dan says yeah.
Victoria and Brooke are in COB. She realizes Victoria was at her house. Brooke says stay away from her friends. V says this is why you weren’t at the meeting today. You’re too emotional. That’s why I’m here. Brooke says now you are. You were never there until I had my company. Victoria says you took the company as far as you could and then you came to me. Brooke says Rachel needed help. Victoria says you earned my help. Brooke says a daughter is not supposed to earn it. Then says You are fired! Victoria says you’re going to fire me and risk the company. Brooke says it’s not ours it’s mine. Victoria says I’m not an employee. I am your mother. Brooke says I know. You’re fired. You can go now. Victoria leaves and Brooke tries not to cry.
Lucas does a voice over, and it goes........ Blessed are the hearts that bend that never are broken…
Haley is reading in bed and makes a phone call.
Brooke walks in upset to her house and Peyton sees her. Brooke breaks down crying.
Lucas answers a call. It’s Haley. She says she needs to talk to him. She says you can’t marry Lindsey. Lucas looks down at Lindsey who’s asleep. Lucas doesn’t say anything.

OTH - Episode 10
Sorry for the delay. I"ve had a hell of a week. With coming in on the last 15 minutes of the show, and hanging with Justin, I kinda forgot about it. I know i know, i shouldn't say that, but You all just don't know, he is a wonderful man, and he makes me happy........... anyway..... I am a little more detailed this week, so who knows, I might keep it up. Enjoy reading y'all...................
Nathan and Jamie run in and call for Haley but she’s not home. She calls and says she missed the game but she’s on the way. Nathan says he’s taking a shower and going to bed. They show him in the shower and Carrie gets in and Nathan tells her to get out whenever he realizes who it is. Haley comes in and sees them getting out of the shower. She throws Carrie out and tells Nathan 
to get out even though he tries to explain.
Peyton walks in and finds John at her desk. He says he’s interested in Mia. Peyton says to leave Mia alone.
Peyton goes into the studio and asks if John had contacted her. She says yes and he wanted to hear the record and she made a big mistake picking Peyton.
Owen is at the bar restocking the drinks and Brooke stops by and asks if Peyton is around. He says she just left. Brooke asks if it’s too early for a Brooke Davis on the rocks. He says he just pours them. Owen says he went into the wrong business if she can run a clothing line from a bar in the am. Brooke dares him to go to
Lucas gets a card from Karen and Lily and from the parole board about Dan. Nathan knocks at the door and says Haley kicked him out and he needs a place to stay. Lucas shows him the letter and says he’s up for parole.
Haley and Jamie are in the kitchen. He asks for Carrie and Haley says she’ll be gone for awhile. Jamie says he likes the way Carrie cuts his sandwich. Haley says it tastes the same either way. Nathan walks in and Haley asks Jamie to go upstairs. Nathan asks to be heard. He says there’s nothing going on. He says it was flirting and it went too far and he knows but there is nothing going on. Haley says she thought they were rounding a corner from everything and she needs some time to think and be alone. She asks him to go to Dan’s hearing and they’d find time to talk about it later. Haley stops Nathan walking out and says there better not be more.
Peyton tells John to stay away from Mia. They argue about a girl who didn’t get an TV show or a record because of John and she does not want that to happen to Mia. John says she can’t make it happen without a major label. She says they’ll be fine. John says she doesn’t have the resources and she’ll kill her. He says he’s in town until tomorrow and to do the right thing.
Skills and Lucas are in practice. Q complains and Lucas asks to see Q’s hand. It’s hurting and he tells him to go to the doctor and sits him down.
Jamie is walking into school and Carrie calls him over. She says she’s going away. She doesn’t want to but Haley doesn’t like her but she’s the boss and what she’s says go. She wishes he was her little boy. She says goodbye and kisses him on the forehead and leaves.
Owen and Brooke ride up to an apartment. It’s been trashed. They find Rachel on the floor in the bedroom. He takes her to the shower and is trying to wake her up.
Owen comes out and says she’s ok. Brooke says she needs to go to the ER. Owen says her color is back and he’ll keep an eye on her. He asks how she knows her. She says she used to model for the company and she started screwing up shoots and
Q is at the Dr and says he needs a cast for 4-6 weeks. Q argues with him and the Dr says he doesn’t have a choice.
Haley picks Jamie up from school and asks how it was. Jamie is mad and asks why Carrie had to go away. Haley says with grownups, they need to move on with their own lives and she needed to move on with her own life. Jamie says that’s not what Carrie said. Haley asks how he knows and he tells her he came to school.
Peyton and Mia are in the studio. Peyton says they’ll make it and tells her her plans. Peyton says who am I kidding? He’s offering way more. Mia says no, she wants to stay with Peyton.
Haley is at home and Carrie walks in. Haley says her stuff is in the garage and marked whore. Carrie says just know I never meant for him to fall in love with her. Haley says he’s not in love. Carrie says oh, did you know he kissed me and he watched me swim naked and he liked it. He wanted me in that shower. Haley says I’ve already told you, stay away from my family! Haley shuts the door and turns around and Jamie is standing there and says “I hate you!”
Rachel wakes up in bed. She asks if she’s dead. Brooke says she OD’d and she’s alive but stupid. She asks what happened. Rachel says life, I guess. They made me feel better and they just made me feel. Brooke asks why she didn’t ask for help. Rachel says they were friends and she fired her. Owen is in the kitchen and someone knocks. It’s a guy. He comes in and beats the guy up and threatens him to never come there again. He throws him money and tells him to get away. Brooke comes out and asks who it was. Owen says someone not coming back.
Lucas and Nathan are in the car. Nathan says it would have been nice to have a dad he could have gone to today. Lucas says he realizes they are going to have Dan in their lives again maybe and not to let that happen. They show them at the courthouse. Dan comes out and says Hello, son.
Peyton is at her office and John comes in. She says she thought about it and he’s right. He says it’s about time. Mia walks in and asks what’s going on. Peyton says it’s really in your best interest. Mia says you can make whatever deal you want but she’ll never play for John. Thanks for selling me out, Peyton. I thought we had something special.
Dan is at the hearing and tells his story starting back at 17 years old. He says it’s no excuse for his actions but he does regret it and he’ll live with it the rest of his life. He says he’ll spend every living moment mending the lives of those that were hurt by his actions. He says he lost his family in jail. He says Nathan and Lucas deserve a father. Lucas says he’ll speak. He says he’s his son. He tells the story starting when Dan left Karen. He says he only ever had Keith to look after him and this man killed him. His own brother. In cold blood and point blank range. He says next week he’s getting married and Keith would have been his best man but he’s not going to be there and Dan took that with malice and premeditation. He says Dan is educated and if he is nothing, he is persuasive. Don’t let him fool you. He’s a dark man and he shouldn’t be let free. What does it say when his sons never came to see him? The guy on the board says Nathan has been to see him. Nathan admits to it. Lucas is shocked.
Lucas and Nathan are driving back and Lucas is mad Nathan didn’t say anything. Nathan didn’t think it mattered. Lucas says it’s mattered. He says he’s not worried about them, it’s Jamie and Dan is going to try to get to him.
Owen is cleaning up the glass and Brooke asks how he knew what the guy was. Owen says he’s an addict, eight years clean. He had a friend that helped and never gave up on him. He says he understands the business side but he doesn’t understand the friendship side. Brooke says
Q is at the gym and Nathan walks in. Q says his last season must have been special. Nathan says he took it for granted. He wishes he could go back and appreciate it more. Q says he wants it so bad. Nathan says he’ll get there and when he does, he should enjoy it. Q walks out.
Rachel and Brooke are in the bedroom. Brooke is trying to convince Rachel to go. Rachel doens’t want to go and be herself. She wants to stay with Brooke. Brooke doesn’t know what to say.
Lucas is at his laptop at home. Nathan comes in and apologizes about Dan. Lucas says then go be a dad and work things out with your wife. He says he needs his best man and maid of honor to be getting along. Nathan is surprised. He knew that was Keith’s spot.
Haley is putting Jamie to bed and Jamie asks where Nathan is. Haley says they’re having a tough time and he’s staying with Uncle Lucas. Jamie asks if Nathan is going to be sad again. Daddy really liked Carrie. Haley says it’s hard to understand but Carrie wasn’t nice and needed to go. Jamie says I wish Carrie was my momma.
Peyton and Mia are at the office. Peyton tells her the deal and says they did it! She had a great performance when John was there. Apparently they acted the whole thing out to get what they wanted. They are both excited.
Brooke and Rachel are in a cab and Rachel says she doesn’t want to be alone. She says you’re not, you’re coming home with me.
Lucas is looking at the picture of Keith and says he loves him and misses him.
Dan is at the parole decision and they say we have a decision, Mr. Scott…
